I decided to try a multiplayer game and looked in the listing for one that had active players and wasn't password protected. I picked one of them at random and joined.
There was one other player there and we've chatted a bit. Apparently it's just been them for a very long time, with others popping in and leaving immediately from time to time. It's been fun sharing a world with someone.
The server runs a world from the starting year 1950 to 2050, which takes 24 hours. Then it resets with a new world. I wasn't sure when or how often the reset took place so I asked the other player to get the answer.
I formulated my question as "How often do you reset the server?" to which the first answer was "I don't, it resets automatically. And it's not my server."
"Whose server is it then?"
"I don't know. I just play here."
I wonder whose server it is and why they don't play there themselves.
