Things I've Learned From Star Trek Voyager
- Ships, anomalies, and other unexpected things always show up "off the port bow".
- There is no use trying to understand time travel. Captain Janeway points this out at several occasions.
- Resistance is in fact not futile.
- A mixed species pregnancy can last for a very short or a very long time, and the child may develop to a 5-6 year old's maturity in just a year or so.
- Even when you've magically crossed thousands of light years of space that would otherwise take decades you'll still encounter species whose territory you should reasonably have left a far way behind.
- The Voyager crew are not the first nor only humans in the Delta Quadrant. Not by far.
- Someone who is at first very friendly will quite often try to stab you in the back.
- Most baddies are motivated by money.
- It doesn't matter how much fuel you get your hands on, replicator food will still be rationed.
- Data compression works in mysterious ways. Very mysterious ways.
