Restrictions Are Being Lifted

Sweden has had a very pragmatic attitude towards restrictions. The Public Health Authority early on declared that Sars-Cov2 was spreading all through society and could not be stopped. The goal of our restrictions was never to contain or stop the spread, but to slow it down to prevent our healthcare from being swamped.

It's largely worked. And now that so many of us have taken the booster shot and/or have had the Omicron variant they've decided to lift all restrictions starting next week.

I'm not about to go out partying or seek out crowded spaces any time soon, but I do look forward to having the next installment of my quarterly Old School RPG convention in a physical location. That'll be some time in March, I think. I have yet to set a date.

I hope that we've all learned something from this pandemic. One thing I've learned at least is that social distancing works. Covid-19 may be infectious enough to spread no matter what we try, but the flu and winter noro virus disappeared more or less overnight when we first started distancing. The season ended six to seven weeks earlier than expected.

I've also learned that I really enjoy working from home. I know I'm not alone in that.
